The Blu-Ray next generation, high definition video format apears to be winning over it's rival, HD-DVD.

Blu-Ray has become more dominant over its rival, HD-DVD, for many reasons this month.

The main reason being the rumoured Toshiba pull-out from HD-DVD. Toshiba are one of the biggest HD-DVD backer, incorporating the technology in several of it's most popular notebooks.

Also, Netflix an American on-line film rental service has said it will "phase out" HD-DVD, in order to promote Blu-Ray as it's exclusive next-generation, high definition format.

Best Buy, the American equivalent of the British, Which? Magazine has also recommended Blu-Ray to it's readers.

Warner Bros have switched their backing to Blu-Ray, the film studio were previously one of the main backers of HD-DVD.
