The trial BBC Homepage BETA has been unveiled to the public as the new face of the BBC Online.

The homepage came out of BETA officially on the 27th February this year and was said to be a replacement for the old homepage which was always a "compromise", in an attempt to cater for all users.

The new page, modelled on Facebook, netvibes and iGoogle is customisable and is no longer limited to the content it can provide.

The BETA website includes a lot of content recycled from the previous page it replaced, for example it still has the directory, local news and weather.

In addition, the new website has the content you want, for example music and entertainment news instead of Science and Nature and the World Service.

User feedback has assisted the development of the website, the new homepage has changed substantially since it's BETA debut in November of last year.
