The founders of Codemasters, David and Richard Darling are to be honoured with a CBE.Codemasters have developed big title such as the Colin McRae series and anre now well known for their online version of Lord of the Rings (Online).
The companies first game, BMX Simulator was developed by both David and
Richard Darling with help from their dad, Jim Darling.More recently the company have released GRID, available not just on PC but also Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Also, Sony's Formula 1 gaming rights ran out and Codemasters launched a successful bid and will develop a game for 2009, the season where coverage leaves ITV and returns to the BBC.
Queen Elizabeth II is also recognising Victoria Wood, Des O'Connor and Dot from Eastenders, June Brown in this years Birthday Honours.
David Darling and Richard Darling sold their share of Codemasters in 2007.
