The next firmware upgrade of the PlayStation 3 will introduce "Trophies".

Trophies are a way of measuring player achievement, and are of course a rip off of Xbox's Achievments.

It seems all three of the big console companies, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are copying each other, now that original ideas are scarce.

Yesterday we reported how the Wii's Miis were copied by Microsoft into what they would call Avatars, a new feature of Xbox Live.

Sony needed a measure of achievement for their newest Playstation, it is an important part of multiplayer gaming, any 360 owner will tell you that.
